About the Artist

Alain Vachaudez, creator of the Avalon Faerie Collection, is a model maker who moved from Europe to Thailand some 15 years ago, where he now lives with his Thai wife and young son.

The Avalon Faerie Collection reflects his spiritual and contemplative approach to life. Although Alain mainly focuses on his own creations, he often lends a gifted hand to major jewellery designers in Northern Thailand.

In the 130 different Faerie creations, Alain has captured the essence of beauty and mystic realism.  He has provided a collection of lead free pewter and brass figurines that captures the imagination of all ages. He continues to create new models which broaden the appeal of the Collection to the many Faerie believers around the world.

The butterfly wings are collected from the butterfly farm only after the butterfly has passed on to the next stage of its life cycle. In the wild, the butterfly wings would only disintegrate. Thus, Alain has found a way of preserving the beauty of these wings
